This exhibition of Renaissance masterworks go to Florida. “Offering of the Angels: Old Master Paintings and Tapestries From the Uffizi Gallery”, through April 8 at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, is one of the most important exhibition outside Italy.
Most of the masterpieces come from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, one of the world’s greatest museums in the world. The Uffizi Gallery dates to 1560 and began its storied history as the repository of the priceless collection of Florence’s famous Medici family.
Making its United States premiere at the Museum of Art before touring to three other venues, Offering of the Angels offers a rare opportunity for our community to view rare masterpieces by many of the greatest artists of the Renaissance, including Sandro Botticelli, Il Parmigianino, Lorenzo Monaco, and Giovanni Franceso Barbieri, known as Guercino. The exhibition is located at Nova Southeastern University, 1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.
