Florence and Milan sre getting closer and closer with Frecciarossa. Two new daily trips during peak hours, with an intermediate stop in Bologna, connecting from 9 September the two capitals of Italian fashion. The new trains bring to 45 the numbers of Frecciarossa daily connections between the two cities, with more than 25,000 seats total available.

Gas prices above 2 Euros per liter in Tuscany
Gas prices in Italy, as in many parts of the world, have risen again with many parts of the country showing record highs. Tuscany is the first region for the average price of “super”. It has reached 2 euro per liter last week for the first time ever. The increased cost in Tuscany is due to a regional tax that will be used to pay flood damages and the island of Elba and in Lunigiana last winter.
Frecciarossa 1000, a 400 km/h Italian jewel
The new Frecciarossa 1000 aroused great curiosity among the visitors of the Meeting of Rimini, after the unveiling of the mock up on the evening of August 19 by the Premier Mario Monti. After Rimini, the first sight of the Frecciarossa 1000 road show will be Berlin, September 18. Next steps: Milan (October 2012), Naples (November 2012), Rome (December 2012) and 2013 Bologna and Florence.

An efficient integration between the train and one of the major elements of a national transportation system is the result of an agreement between Trenitalia and the taxi company Florentine SOCOTA thanks to Florence Convention Bureau, which favored the meeting between the two companies.
The University of New Haven opens in Tuscany
The University of New Haven plans to open its first international satellite campus this fall in Prato, Italy, The Hartford Courant reports. The UNH Tuscany Campus will be housed in an old villa on Prato’s historic town square, near the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The university plans to enroll about 35 students this fall and 60 students in the spring of 2013.
A new terminal for the Florence airport
The expansion of the airport terminal in Florence goes on. After the “Arrival hall”, opened in December 2011, it’s made operational the new “Departure hall” of 2,600 square meters: the official opening is scheduled for next July 24. Marinò Biagio, CEO of Adf, has underlined the company’s desire to speed: “We wanted to start the operation of the new hall check in advance and we did it”.
Florence? The second best city in the world!
Florence is in the first place as Best City in Europe and in the second in the world, after Bangkok, for the second consecutive year. It is the result of a poll of the magazine Travel & Leisure attended by about 80,000 readers. This was announced by APPS, the Associazione Partners Palazzo Strozzi.
Pratariccia, a medieval village in Tuscany on sale
The news is present on all the sites and Int’l newspapers of tourism: Pratariccia is on sale. Pratariccia is a medieval village that is perched on hilltops above Tuscany’s Casentino Valley. Very close to the Hermitage of Camaldoli, the castle of Poppi, the sanctuary of La Verna and the Benedictine monastery of La Verna. The village borders the National Park of Casentino Forests, where the river Arno from the mountain Falterona.
ABI has chosen Florence for the annual convention
ABI, the Italian Banking Association, has chosen Florence for the 15 th edition of the annual Convention dedicated to the issues of doing banking. For the first time since 1997, SPIN, the international event on payment systems and services organized by ABIEventi, moved its location from Rome to Florence and chose the Conference Centre to celebrate its 15° anniversary.
