The Rolling Stones to play in Lucca in summer 2017

Rolling Stones to play at the Lucca Summer Festival

FLORENCE, ITALY – The Rolling Stones will play at the Lucca Summer Festival on September 23, 2017 in the only Italian date on their Stones-No Filter world tour, festival organisers said. The concert will have the Tuscan city’s famed medieval walls as a backdrop.

Lucca Summer Festival is a series of concerts held in the Tuscan city. The renaissance architecture and picturesque greenery make it a special setting for the intimate open-air performances.

Across the course of six weeks, the Piazza Napoleone plays host numerous music icons. Everyone from David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Neil Young to Robbie Williams, John Legend and The Prodigy have played over the last two decades.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the likes of Green Day, Kasabian and Imagine Dragons will be among those adding their names to that esteemed list of past performers.

The No Filter Tour marks The Rolling Stones’ first European dates since their 14 On Fire Tour in 2014. The band will be supporting last year’s Blue & Lonesome, which marked their first new album in over a decade.
