FLORENCE, ITALY – Italian state broadcaster RAI scored big ratings on Tuesday evening for the first episode of a new series on the Medici dynasty – Medici: Masters of Florence – on RAI 1, garnering a 29.9% audience share with over 7.5 million viewers tuning in.
The political, family drama is set in Florence in the early 15th century. Cosimo de’ Medici finds himself at the helm of his supremely wealthy, banking dynasty family, when his father, Giovanni dies suddenly.
The movie stars Dustin Hoffman, Guido Caprino, Giorgio Caputo contributes to the success of the story. RAI broadcast the next episodes every Tuesday. It is possible to view the serie for free on Rai Play (only in Italian).
