FLORENCE, ITALY – Tuscan Governor Enrico Rossi said Monday February 22, 2016, that he intends to launch a bid to replace Premier Matteo Renzi as the head of the centre-left Democratic Party (PD).
“My bid will be an alternative to Renzi, while aiming to go beyond the dynamics between Renzi supporters and Renzi opponents. That’s why I call myself a convinced Rossian”, Enrico Rossi said.
Renzi became the head of the PD with a landslide win in a poll of members in December 2013. Two month after that he ousted fellow PD member Enrico Letta to become Italy’s premier. Last Monday was recorded as the second anniversary of his government.
