FLORENCE, ITALY – Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi play the card of beauty of his native Florence to agree with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on important economic issues referred to European situation.
The bilateral summit will happen on January 22-23, 2015 and will be focused on budget flexibility, growth, structural reforms and spending cuts.
“The chancellor and I have a good personal relationship, but our opinions sometimes diverge,” the 39-year-old former mayor of Florence told La Nazione few days ago. “When she told me that she has only been to Florence once, I took the opportunity of inviting her.”
Renzi planned to dine with Merkel in one of the frescoed rooms of Palazzo Vecchio, visit Uffizi Gallery and organize a meeting at Accademia, the world-famous gallery which hosts the Michelangelo’s David.
