FLORENCE, ITALY – Five people were detained as part of an inquiry into a fire last December that killed seven people in a Chinese factory in Prato, few miles from Florence, Tuscany.
Two of those held were the Italians owners of the building, located in the textile town in Italy. All face charges of multiple manslaughter and exploiting illegal labour.
Eleven workers had been living and sleeping in close quarters on makeshift beds when the fire broke out. In Prato lives about 50,000 Chinese people. Most of them lives in an illegal businesses system.
