FLORENCE, ITALY Every Saturday, from 6 October to 5 January, visitors to the Uffizi Gallery, the Palatine Gallery, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Museo degli Argenti (The Medici Treasury) and the Medici Villa of Petraia will have the chance to take part in an initiative focusing on a work of art as part of the series of events called: “Close-ups”.
The initiatives involve experts who, standing in front of the selected works, will propose a reading designed to open up the specific aspects of its appeal, helping to renew our awareness of the variety and complexity of the heritage passed down to us, providing us with insights and with tools that can help us to understand the manifold meanings and messages that a work of art can convey.
The conversations will be repeated several times over the two-hour periods, and the information will also be provided in foreign languages.
