FLORENCE, ITALY – End of August under the rain. Raining already in the Northwestern regions and the Alps; now Northbound. These are the first major signs of weather changing. Tomorrow Pompea, the cyclonic vortex, is expected, the first autumn storm, with rainfall and storms from the Northwestern regions and Tuscany, bound to the central regions downh to Campania in the evening.
Strong mistral wind from Sardinia. High alert in Lumbardy, Emilia, then over Tuscany and tomorrow late in the morning it will also affect Umbria and the Veneto regions, where rain will fall until the vening. Heavy rain expected in Rome between 11 and 14 hours. Also small tornados might come along the Thyrrennian coast.
Heavy raions to continue on Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Still hot in the South; in the vening Northern Atlantic breeze to reach Campania, Southbounhd towards Sicily during the night.
Antonio Sano, director of the portal www.ilmeteo.it warns that Poppea will remain active over the weekend and will become stronger due to contrasts between the cold Scandinavian air and the warm Me3diterranean breeze, 3 degrees above normal temperature.
All regions could be affected by rainfall and storms with a halt only on Saturday in the central regions and in Sardinia; on Sunday storms also on the Thyrrenian coast heading towards the rest of the central areas and Sardinia. In Rome temperature should drop by 8 degrres and be staionary around 20-22 degrees. Poppea will bring rain until Wednesday, in this week that has already an autumn falir. (Agi)
