FLORENCE, ITALY – A storm front that has disrupted spring weather in northern Italy is set to sweep south beyond Rome to culminate in a peak of bad weather on Friday May 22, 2015, according to the weather forecaster Centro Epson Meteo.
Menacing clouds, sharp winds, showers and unseasonably cold temperatures are expected to clobber the greater part of the peninsula simultaneously Friday, and herald particularly wet, windy and cold weather for Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Triveneto.
The storm will then continue its creep south to saturate Umbria and Lazio on Saturday. The skies will not clear for the weekend, but Sunday does promise some relief. However, the weather is expected to worsen once more for northern Italy on Monday and Tuesday. Southern Italian regions like the Ionian coast, Calabria, Sicily and other Italian islands are forecast to be spared.
