Florence opens Maggio Musicale Festival with The Death of Klinghoffer

The contemporary opera by John Adams inaugurates the 88th edition of the festival, drawing attention for its subject and staging.

The decision follows an appeal launched in December by conductor Riccardo Muti.

The Welsh singer will take the stage in Piazza Napoleone during the 2026 edition of the Lucca Summer Festival.

Two concerts will take place in Florence on March 30–31, organized by the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
