Fiorentina has signed Juan Cuadrado from Udinese on loan with the right to buy the Colombian midfielder at the end of the season. Cuadrado joined Udinese in 2009 and impressed during a loan spell at Lecce last season. Last week the Viola team signed Facundo Roncaglia.

Florence will host the Four football helmets
After Luino in 2010 and Bologna in 2011, Florence will host the 2012 edition of the tournament Four football helmets. The match will be played in the new stadium of Perugino street (19 and 21 July) and the event was organized by the National FIDAF to test for the forthcoming European Championship for nations scheduled in Italy in 2013.

Queen of pop Madonna has debuted the visual for her new single “Turn Up The Radio”, a cut from her March 2012-released twelfth studio album “MDNA”. The video was filmed in Florence, Italy last June after Madonna finished the Italian leg of the ‘MDNA’ tour. It’s got an Instagram-esque feel to it too.

On June 20th, Salvatore Ferragamo, one of the most popular luxury brands in the world, opened in a new and prestigious location, its flagship store in Baku, Azerbaijan. The new store combines in a single boutique the two previously existing stores, which were dedicated respectively to the brand’s Menswear and Womenswear collections.
37 Tuscan athletes bound for the Olympics
37 Tuscans athletes bound for the Olympics and Paralympics. The Tuscan team, the third in number of athletes qualified for Italy, after Lombardia and Lazio, was presented today by the regional sport and welfare councilor, Salvatore Allocca. Sports more represented is swimming, with six athletes, followed by boating with five.
Jorge Lorenzo took a victory at Mugello
Jorge Lorenzo took a victory at the Mugello circuit, Florence, Italy, leading from the first turn till the finish. This win extended his lead in the championship to 19 points over second placed Dani Pedrosa. The race started with Pedrosa entering turn one in the lead, but he ran wide in the long right hand sweeper leaving a gap for Lorenzo to squeeze through.
Moto GP, Pedrosa on pole for Mugello
With the top lap times in the first three practices, and a new circuit record, it seemed certain that Jorge Lorenzo would capture the pole for Round 9 of the 2012 MotoGP World Championship at the Mugello Circuit near Florence, Italy. But, with time for only one more lap remaining, and another record-setting pace, Lorenzo sat up and rode into the pits.
