Florence Convention Bureau continues its monitoring activities on meeting industry thanks to the work of Congress Observatory, an organization born out of collaboration between FCB and the Centre for Tourism Studies of Florence to perform market analysis on the Florence territory, by using the online mapping of FCB and the Promotion of Tuscany.

The University of New Haven opens in Tuscany
The University of New Haven plans to open its first international satellite campus this fall in Prato, Italy, The Hartford Courant reports. The UNH Tuscany Campus will be housed in an old villa on Prato’s historic town square, near the Cathedral of St. Stephen. The university plans to enroll about 35 students this fall and 60 students in the spring of 2013.
Fiorentina signs Udinese midfielder Cuadrado
Fiorentina has signed Juan Cuadrado from Udinese on loan with the right to buy the Colombian midfielder at the end of the season. Cuadrado joined Udinese in 2009 and impressed during a loan spell at Lecce last season. Last week the Viola team signed Facundo Roncaglia.

Florence will host the Four football helmets
After Luino in 2010 and Bologna in 2011, Florence will host the 2012 edition of the tournament Four football helmets. The match will be played in the new stadium of Perugino street (19 and 21 July) and the event was organized by the National FIDAF to test for the forthcoming European Championship for nations scheduled in Italy in 2013.

Queen of pop Madonna has debuted the visual for her new single “Turn Up The Radio”, a cut from her March 2012-released twelfth studio album “MDNA”. The video was filmed in Florence, Italy last June after Madonna finished the Italian leg of the ‘MDNA’ tour. It’s got an Instagram-esque feel to it too.

On June 20th, Salvatore Ferragamo, one of the most popular luxury brands in the world, opened in a new and prestigious location, its flagship store in Baku, Azerbaijan.
