Closed a record-breaking edition of Pitti Uomo

FLORENCE, ITALY – The 89th edition of Pitti Uomo closed just a few hours ago and the final forecasts point once again to a record-breaking edition of the leading international men’s fashion fair.

A record in terms of exhibiting brands (1.219) and also in terms of number of buyers who came to Florence that registered a rise of over 4% compared to the last January edition, and with this sort of trend the overall number of buyers should total around 25,000 – once again the best result for the most recent editions.

The foreign buyers continued to grow (+2.5% at this edition, making a total of around 8,850 buyers), and the figures for the Italian market also increased by over 5% (16.000). We expect to widely exceed the figure of 36,000 visitors in total.

With regard to the foreign markets, the most interesting performances came from Europe (Germany +14%, Spain +20%, Holland +14%, Great Britain +9%, Switzerland +12%, Belgium +16, France +4%) from northern Europe (Sweden, Danemark, Norway and Finland) and great results from Ireland, Iceland, Baltic Countries and Ukraine.

There was also growth from the U.S.A. +5%), whereas the figures for Japan remained steady with respect to the levels recorded at recent editions, and there were good results for South Korea and Taiwan. There was also growth from E.A.U., Australia and Mexico.
