FLORENCE, ITALY – For centuries, we live in the future. With this slogan the Tuscany Region presents itself to visitors at Expo 2015. A Tuscany recognizable, but different from the usual cliches, open until May 28 inside Expo2015.
The region of good living is daily involved in the protection and preservation of its territory traditions. Whilst Tuscany feeds the technology research, holding balance between innovation and secular heritage. Tuscan Lifestyle is not only the result of a glorious past but mostly the result of continuous investment in research, industry, trade and culture.
The Pavillon show Tuscany to the world with this image, during Expo2015. Starting with the slogan of Expo 2015, ‘Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life ‘, the Region will be told in a history of tradition, art, landscape, but also research and innovation applied to our lives and economy. That research and innovation allows Tuscany to be – still today – one of the most coveted and desired in the world.
A journey that will excite sight, hearing, touch and smell will lead the visitor to the discovery of Tuscany: “Five minutes a day”, a video installation that will be clear on all the screens of the totem center. The installation will collect images, sounds and suggestions and rapresents a real one-day trip in Tuscany summed up into five minutes. The four keyponits chosen for the creation of the work are: Landscape, Art and Culture, Food, Science and Technology.
The three libraries provided by Expo will extend the message inside the totem, through physical objects, images and video to slide in the monitor in while with the main totem. Some monitors libraries will also be technological tool for an interactive question game that will involve the visitor to discover Tuscany.
Tuscany region will create an interactive wall that contains a multimedia database composed by sounds and images. The building will be located in the left corner of the first room, without hidding the emergency exits. Users can interact by accessing content screens and export their expertise on a memory device (such as cloud virtual and physical as a USB key).
Tables experience places in the second room will be characterized as four thematic groups related to the senses of hearing, smell, sight and touch. The senses will be investigated through the projects of excellence Tuscany that show how innovation is applied in every area.
Tuscany decided to focus on the sense of smell through the aroma of Tuscany as a unifying element of the space. A master perfumer will create a new essence composed by a mixture of suggestions and evocations of the territory.
