
FLORENCE, ITALY – A real challenge for those who thought they have already seen and read everything about kitchen’s world. A way to test one’s knowledge and belief culinary submitting the verification of the tuscan “guru” Beppe Bigazzi. His newest book Lies and truths in the kitchen – Stories and recipes of a life (ed. Giunti) will be presented Saturday, February 2nd at the Villa Medicea in Artimino (Prato).
Everything will happen in the Dauphin’s Hall of Medicean Villa “La Ferdinanda” starting at 17.30, when Bigazzi will illustrate the ideas and innovations of the book, involving the present and answering to their curiosity.
Afterwards, people will go from theory to practice: at 20.00 the restaurant “Biagio Pignatta” next to the villa, will host a typical tuscan dinner with some of the traditional delicacies of the region, the “sbriciolona” or mortadella of Prato, the porridge of black cabbage or risotto Barco Reale, tortello of potatoes with chopped wild boar and polenta until “peposo” Impruneta. And finally, two evergreen as “zuccotto” and crushed Florentine. Dinner’s price is 38 euro per person.
For those coming from afar, the resort of Artimino has provided the hotel “Paggeria Medicea” with a special promotion: dinner and overnight at 80 euro per person.
