FLORENCE, ITALY – Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1 to win their first Serie A home game of the season. Milito put Inter in front after converting a penalty kick, but the visitors managed to equalise through Romulo.
Despite playing well, Fiorentina could not stop Cassano from scoring a second goal for the home side and ended the game empty-handed.
Fiorentina also had to play the last 30 minutes one man down, after Rodriguez was sent off in the 17th minute of the second half. Inter coach Stramaccioni opted for an offensive formation by once again fielding only three defenders (Ranocchia-Samuel-Juan), and playing Coutinho (instead of Guarin) behind strikers Milito and Cassano.
As for Fiorentina, Romulo joined Pizarro and Borja Valero in the midfield, as expected, while Ljajic was selected to play alongside Jovetic in attack. (Agi)
