Palazzo Strozzi, a great house in Florence

The springtime of the Renaissance in Florence

The springtime of RenaissanceThe Springtime of the Renaissance will be held at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence (23 March-18 August 2013), then at the Musée du Louvre in Paris. The exhibition proposes to illustrate the origin of what is still known today as the “miracle” of the Renaissance in Florence, doing so principally through masterpieces of sculpture, the branch of figurative art in which that new season first saw the light of day.

“Americans in Florence”, a tribute to Vespucci

Sargent and the American Impressionists”, 2 March – 15 July 2012 at Palazzo Strozzi, explores the American impressionists’ relationship with Italy, and with Florence, 500 years since the death of Amerigo Vespucci.  The exhibition is designed to celebrate the strong ties linking the Old and the New World, and the cosmopolitan ambiance transmitting European culture to America.
