An strong earthquake was reported in several regions of northern Italy at around 12:30 local time. The tremor was felt in Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lombardy, Piedmont, Veneto and Liguria. It was not immediately clear whether the quake had caused casualties or damage.
