FLORENCE, ITALY – The Summer at Bargello festival is made up by over than thirty events: music, theatre, dancing starting from May 23rd and closing on July 31st. The schedule will liven up Florence nights in the courtyard of a museum, in a very suggestive atmosphere. The inaugural ribbon was cut by a Proust play.
The Florence Dance festival is an eagerly-awaited event, scheduled on June 25th- July 22nd, in its 23rd edition. “Discovering a new world” is the title of this year’s edition, wanting to join the celebrations for the Vespucci’s year promoted by the Comune of Florence.
On the music front, spotlights are on “La Sabbia del Tempo” (Time’s sand), born from the collaboration of Settimana di Musica Sacra dal Mondo in its ninth edition and realized together with Accademia San Felice and Florence Chamber Festival by FLAME Ensemble.
The opening concert, by the trumpeter Paolo FRESU with the bandaneòn player Daniele di Bonaventura, is worth seeing. The Chamber Orchestra of Florence will have five events, scheduled July 11th-31st.
“New-world Music – Italy- America” is the title of the opening event on Wednesday, July 11th , together with Chamber Orchestra of Florence conducted by Giuseppe Lanzetta: a specific programme dedicated to the imaginative American world, with Morricone, Carmichael, Rota and Bernstein music. A.Co.Mus. International Association will also play some good music.
Italian and international guests for an interesting schedule, which alternates ballet, neoclassic, contemporary and modern dancing. Summer at Bargello 2012 Rear-Windows- in music, theatre and dance.
