Russian quasicrystals may have an alien past. “We present evidence that a rock sample found in the Koryak Mountains in Russia and containing icosahedrite, an icosahedral quasicrystalline phaseis part of a meteorite, likely formed in the early solar system,” said Luca Bindi, who works at the University of Florence, Italy, and his team of scientists in the study’s abstract.
The study reveals more about the possible alien past of the Russian Quasicrystals and is from the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).
Mr. Bindi and his team of researchers believe that the Russian quasicrystals may have alien an alien past: “Our evidence indicates that quasicrystals can form naturally under astrophysical conditions and remain stable over cosmic timescales, giving unique insights on their existence in nature and stability.”
