From January 1 to September 30 in Florence, there were almost 6 million and 340 thousand visitors. The peak in the first nine months, was there in April with over 800 thousand presences, the 28.45% increase over the same month in 2010.
Even in the following months, until September, there were increases compared to last year’s data. The City of Florence will collect about 11 million from tax in 2011 (the tax comes into effect mid-year) and forecasts for 2012 are around 22 million euros.
An increasing number of tourists arriving by bus. During the period January 1 to November 30 there were 47,283 incoming bus: in the 12 months of last year were 43,644. A method of travel called “hit and run” that do not like to the municipal administration because it brings more problems than benefits to the city.
