Uffizi and other museums open January 1st, 2013
Visitors can greet the new year at national archeological sites and museums across Italy on Tuesday, as many institutions will open their doors even on the January 1 holiday. The Uffizi’s exhibit “I Mai Visti”, showing a series of 44 marble Caesar busts, will be the only part of the museum to open on January 1.

At the Florentine museums with no queue
If you are not able to visit Florence during the low season (in November and in January-February) and you would rather not have to contend with long queues and waiting times at the museums, we recommend booking your admission to the State Museums of Florence, especially for visiting the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery.
Uffizi Gallery is in trouble for bad smells
Bad odors in some of the rooms of the Uffizi Gallery: this is what the Unions indicate in a letter to the Superintendent Cristina Acidini. The discomfort is concerned, in particular, the Senese and Florentine Fourteenth century rooms and the International Gothic style rooms.
