Prince Albert II and Charlene are in Florence

Albert II Monaco (David Sifry) - CCFLORENCE, ITALY – In the early afternoon the Prince Albert II of Monaco, along with his wife Charlene, after landing at the airport of Peretola and being greeted by the console of the principality Alessandro Giusti, Prefect Luigi Varratta and the Quaestor Francis Zonno, went to visit Palazzo Vecchio.

The royal couple was welcomed by the Mayor Matteo Renzi and his wife Agnese. In the office of mayor there were an exchange of gifts. The mayor have donated to the Prince an ancient book and the beautiful Charlene receive a scarf. The two objects were chosen in red and white, the colors of Florence and the Principality of Monaco.

The royal couple will attend tonight at Palazzo Pitti, at 7:30 p.m., at the ball of Giglio. The dance, sponsored by the Honorary Consul of the Principality, will be donated to charity. Half will go to the Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco, the other half to the Museums of Florence.
