Marilyn Monroe in Florence at Ferragamo museum

MarilynFLORENCE, ITALY – The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, created by the haute couture Florentine maison, dedicates an exhibition to the most celebrated and beloved star of Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe. The exhibition draws on many footwear, fourteen pairs exactly, created on purpose for her by Salvatore Ferragamo through the diva’s most famous period.

Marilyn, whose beauty and sensuality remain still unforgotten, was an icon of style. The exhibition wants to suggest it again, thanks to shoes to costumes of some of the most well-known movies, to photos and works of art which portray her.

Salvatore Ferragamo has helped to create the legend of Marilyn: the shoes were realized to celebrate her innate and unbridled sensuality, also loved and compared by Salvatore himself of the Greek goddess of beauty.

The exhibition takes place June 20th – January 28th; opening times 10 am to 6 pm. Closed Tuesdays. Ticket € 6.
