The exhibition project counts the presence of 36 works of the Boehmian artist Vlastimil Košvanec (Prague, 1887-1961) divided into five “rooms” of Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence. The event was conceived on a chronological path that embraces the first years of the Twentieth century till reaching the 50s.
The contents development corresponds to the most intense moments of the Košvanec’s pictorial activity. The light is the protagonist in the creation of his works; it creates the space and becomes style that concurs in feeding the historical and artistic interest.
That need of rediscovering of the Košvanec’ paintings and of the spaces of Medici Riccardi is joined to the image of Florence, heart of a new Humanism. The valorization of the Italian national territory echoes to the aesthetic sense of beauty, to the research of the historical and civil identity of the Europe. The work of Vlastimil Košvanec, in an exhaustive way, will be seen in Italy and Europe for the first time. The great cultural event will bring new studies about the figurative painting that links the Post-Impressionism to the Mitteleuropean Symbolism.
