It’s time to Buy Wine and Chianti Classico Collection

WineFLORENCE, ITALY – Florence became the capital of the wine in February. Two events of great reputation will be held at the Stazione Leopolda, a few steps from the historical center of the city.

The first event is “Buy Wine 2012” exhibition of international promotion of Tuscan wine, scheduled at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, Italy on 16 and 17 February. Sponsored by Toscana promozione, “Buy Wine 2012” will be the “stage” for 200 Italian and international buyers and 179 Tuscan producers.

The second event is the “Chianti classico Collection”, 20-22 February 2012 at Stazione Leopolda, Florence, Italy.

This year the stars will be the hundreds of bottles of Chianti Classico being sampled at the event devoted to one of the world’s most prestigious wine territories. The “Chianti Classico Collection 2012” will be held as usual at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence, where the latest vintages and most important news will be presented to the wine press and trade.

In its nineteenth edition, the “Collection” will be held for three days instead of two.

So the kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 am on Monday, February 20, for a session dedicated entirely to sector operators that will end at 6:30 pm. On this day the public will be able to meet with the 150-odd wineries present to taste the latest Chianti Classico vintages and barrel previews of the 2011, plus the 2011 olive oil at the stands of the producers belonging to the Chianti Classico DOP Olive Oil Consortium.

The next day (Tuesday, February 21) it will be the turn of Italian and international wine writers, who will taste the wines from participating wineries but without the presence of the vintners, who will return the following day to meet with them.

Again this year there will be more than 200 journalists from 29 different European and non-European countries: Italy, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Serbia, Holland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Ukraine, Finland, France, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Croatia, the USA, Japan, Canada, China, South Korea, Australia, India, Israel and Brazil.

While the press is admitted by invitation only, sector operators can register for the event using the form found at www.chianticlassicocollection.it.
