Descendants of Leonardo found, research says

Leonardo Da Vinci

Leonardo Da Vinci

FLORENCE, ITALY – Leonardo Da Vinci will return to live in his descendants 564 after his birth.

The art historian Alessandro Vezzosi will announce the results of a study lasting 43 years on the ancestors and descendants of Leonardo da Vinci. According to early rumors, Vezzosi would find people who are directly descended from the Renaissance genius.

The study, conducted in conjunction with Agnese Sabato (President of the International Leonardo Da Vinci Ideal Museum), will be presented in the Vinci Theatre on April 14, 2016, h. 9 pm and also includes an exhibition of documents found in France and Spain.

Some descendants of Leonardo Da Vinci will participate directly at the conference, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Vinci, as announced by Professor Vezzosi.

Many historians and scholars regard Leonardo as the prime exemplar of the universal genius or Renaissance man, an individual of unquenchable curiosity and feverishly inventive imagination.

Leonardo is renowned primarily as a painter. Among his works, the Mona Lisa is the most famous and most parodied portrait and The Last Supper the most reproduced religious painting of all time, with their fame approached only by Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam. Leonardo’s drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also regarded as a cultural icon, being reproduced on items as varied as the euro coin, textbooks, and T-shirts.
