“Giant of the desert”, hot days in Tuscany

Hot days in ItalyFLORENCE, ITALY – The seventh heat wave this summer 2012 is coming to Italy. The anticyclone “Giant of the desert” coming from the inland Moroccan embraces many European countries. According to the expert Francesco Nucera, it will be an exceptional situation not so much for the intensity but mostly for extent and duration.

Besides Italy, the cyclone should be of interest to Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The hot air will reach even Lapland. Record temperatures set in France and Spain, where you can achieve if not exceed 40C for several days. In Italy the regions most affected are North West, Lombardy, Emilia, Tuscany, Lazio and Sardinia, where, between 18 and 21 August, it will reach 37-38C, with highs of 40C.
