Unesco chooses Florence for ICOMOS 2014

The city of Florence wins the next General Assembly of ICOMOS 2014, the most important international event aimed at the preservation of cultural heritage. The ICOMOS Executive Committee accepted the proposal made by the President of ICOMOS Italy, Maurizio Stefano, to host the big event in the city.

“This is an important result,” said the Florence Convention Bureau in a press release. It handled the nomination of Florence as a plausible location for ICOMOS 2014 on behalf of the Romualdo del Bianco Foundation and with the support of ENIC Meetings & Events, a national reality that has worked with the Foundation for years.

In the frame of Florence the UNESCO’s main international institutions meet from 7 to 15 November 2014 to discuss ‘The Heritage and Landscape as Drivers of Human Rights”.
