Florence Accademia Gallery Hits €20 as New Rates Take Effect

Visiting the home of Michelangelo’s David and other iconic Florentine landmarks now comes with a higher price tag. As of February 1st, 2026, a new tariff structure has officially launched for the Galleria dell’Accademia and the Bargello National Museum group, marking a significant shift in the city’s cultural tourism landscape.

New Rates for the Accademia and Bargello Group

The price for a single entry to the Galleria dell’Accademia has risen from €16 to €20. This adjustment is part of a broader revision involving the entire museum hub. Other increases include:

• Bargello National Museum: From €10 to €12.

• Medici Chapels: From €9 to €11 (Secret Room excluded).

• Palazzo Davanzati: From €6 to €8.

• Orsanmichele Complex: From €8 to €10.

To help visitors manage these costs, two new cumulative tickets will be introduced on March 15th: a €38 pass valid for 72 hours (covering the entire group) and a €26 pass valid for 48 hours for those visiting both the Accademia and the Bargello.

Civic Museums and the 30% Average Increase

These changes follow the trend set by the Uffizi Galleries earlier this year and coincide with the hike in prices for Florence’s Civic Museums. As previously reported, the city administration has implemented an average increase of 30% across municipal sites to cope with rising management costs.

The steepest hike is found at the Brancacci Chapel, where prices have soared by 50%. These updates, the first for the civic circuit since 2018, aim to align the city’s cultural offerings with the costs of other major European art capitals.

While the increases reflect the growing expense of preserving world-class heritage, tourists are advised to plan their budgets carefully, as a full “Renaissance tour” of Florence now requires a notably higher investment than in previous years.
