Madonna has wrapped up her stay in Tuscany with an emotional visit to Siena, where she fulfilled a long-time dream: witnessing the historic Palio horse race on her birthday.
On August 16, the pop icon turned 67 and marked the day in one of Italy’s most traditional and vibrant settings. Writing on her social media, she shared that attending the Palio had been her dream for many years, describing the anticipation, the silence before the start, and the race itself as “indescribable.”
The Palio, held in Piazza del Campo since 1482, takes place twice a year, on July 2 and August 16, coinciding this time with the singer’s birthday. Madonna watched the race from a window of Palazzo D’Elci overlooking the square, alongside friends and guests.
After the race, she stayed in Siena and celebrated with about thirty friends in a historic hotel in the city center. The visit came after she was also spotted in Florence earlier in the day, enjoying shopping and sightseeing before heading to Siena.
Her Tuscan trip blended culture, history, and celebration, leaving the star visibly moved. As she wrote in her post, “Dreams do come true.”
