FLORENCE, ITALY – From June 1, 2021, in restaurants throughout Italy you can finally have lunch and dinner, not only in the outdoor spaces but also indoor. It is also possible to eat at tables without a limited number of people. In this way, restaurants without outdoor areas will also be able to reopen, which according to an estimate by FIPE-Confcommercio are 40%. However, some rules remain to be respected, distancing and masks.
- Tables and distancing – There are no more limited number of people sitting at the table. Until now it was four people. Furthermore, between one table and another there must be a distancing of at least one meter
- Buffet – Buffet service is possible but customers cannot touch directly the food from the buffet: the staff has to serve the dishes. Self-service is allowed only in the case of single-dose products.
- Coffee at the counter – You can have a coffee inside the bars at the counter or at the tables but keeping a distance of one meter. The venue must ensure that a limited number of customers enter, based on its capacity.
