FLORENCE, ITALY – Culture Minister Dario Franceschini presented Italy’s Art Bonus Tax Credit during a workshop in Palazzo Vecchio, Florence, Italy Friday March 6, 2015.
The Art Bonus program incorporates symphony and theatre foundations in the hopes of bringing supporting organizations, Culture Minister Dario Franceschini said.
“With this modification, the 65% tax credit can be used not only for funding the construction of new facilities or restoration of existing ones, but also for funding the production of the important reality of live performances”, Franceschini added.
The Art Bonus initiative aims to provide much-needed financial support for the preservation of artistic and architectural heritage, involving both the private and public sectors.
Minister Franceschini told also a rally of Florence theater, opera and museum employees the ministry will reassign anyone who is made redundant by the city. “No one will remain without a job,” Franceschini said.
Mayor Dario Nardella tried to reassure delegates from Florence’s annual Maggio Musicale Fiorentino arts and opera festival that Maggio Musicale is not in danger because the city intends to fund it as it always has. “I believe we should talk facts and not impressions, which may be legitimate but are unfounded in this case,” Nardella said.
