Marrying in Florence is a dream come true

FLORENCE, ITALY – Marrying in Florence is the dream of many foreign people like Americans, British, Japanese, South Americans who come to Florence to legally marry. Until last year it was only possible to marry in the town hall, Palazzo Vecchio (see in the picture by http://www.weddingimages.it/)

The Red Room, in italian “Sala Rossa”, was the only place to do it, but even if the room had been recently restored and brought back to the ancient splendors, couples would have loved to marry in other settings that Florence is full of.

Maybe the City Council of Florence found out that other important tourist’s town like Venice and Verona opened other buildings to let people wed and decided to do the same. But what are these locations?

First of all the big news is that now it is possible to legally wed open air and in the magnificent Garden of the Roses, under Piazzale Michelangelo twice a month during the months of May, June, July and September, then a room of the Bardini museum, few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, twice a month every month except August.

Then you can marry in the “Sala di Lorenzo” twice a month every month but August and finally the majestic and magnificent Salone del Cinquecento still two times a month every month but August.

Can you imagine getting married in the Salone del Cinquecento? If you really want to feel like a princess this is really your wedding place!

Instead you can still marry all year round in the Sala Rossa three times a week (Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday morning), once a month on Saturday afternoon. The only news of this year is that foreigners can marry in the Sala Rossa only on a week day during the months of June, July and September.
