The Twentieth Century at Santa Caterina

santa_caterinaFLORENCE, ITALY – 24 works of art made by the masters of the Twentieth Century are on display in the fourteenth-century Oratory of Santa Caterina a Rimezzano, in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli. This unprecedented match is named Twentieth Century. Tensions and figure.

The exhibition was inaugurated on the 16th of September and will finish at the end of October. It features paintings by Severini, Sironi, Morandi, Soffici, Carrà, Casorati, Boccioni Rosai and other Italian masters of the century just ended; it is organized by Fabio Migliorati.

The unusual aspect is that the twentieth-century works are hosted in the Oratory, entirely frescoed by Spinello Aretino, Agnolo Gaddi, Pietro Nelli, in short, all masters of the Tuscan Fourteenth Century. This distinguished Oratory has already hosted some exhibitions, it is isolated in the countryside and can be visited almost exclusively in these occasions.

The exhibition Twentieth Century. Tensions and figure is open from the 16th of September to the 28th of October. This exhibition is open on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-6pm; on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 2pm-6pm. It is closed on Monday. Admission € 5.
