Weather alert: strong t’storm in Tuscany

FLORENCE, ITALY – Strong thunderstorms are expected tomorrow (September 12, 2012) in Tuscany. In the early hours of morning thunderstorms will affect the northern part of the region – Lunigiana, Garfagnana, Versilia, Mugello – and the other part of Tuscany during the afternoon and the night.

From 10 am to 11 pm the “Operations room” of the Region launches a moderate state of alert. Will be possible landslides localized slopes in areas of high hydrogeological hazard and flooding.

It may also encounter problems in road sections near the shoreline due to storm surges. Strong wind, specifically provided for in the archipelago and the northern coast of Livorno, can cause power outages and telephone traffic problems and road and sea connections.
