The intervention in Via Martelli, at the cost of 800,000 euros, started last February and it is part of the overall redevelopment of the area of the Cathedral after the pedestrianization.
The intervention involved the use of pietraforte and eliminating the step of sidewalks, identified only by the curb lines and zanella. At the same time new bins have been placed underground.
This is the twenty-second island for the collection of waste buried in the historic center. Composed of 5 bells disappeared, including 3 dedicated to collect the rubbish and 2 for multi-material (glass, plastic, cans and tetra), the new underground station will serve about 600 users thereby eliminating 19 bins and 2 “classic” bells.
