“This is a red lacquer, extracted with endoscopic probe from the same wall – Seracini said – and it has some strongsimilarities with the one of another work of Leonardo: The Adorationof the Magi.” A further confirmation for Seracini, after the discovery of a black color found over the east wall of the cavity of the Salone deiCinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, which has the same chemical composition as that of the Mona Lisa and St. John the Baptist of theLouvre.
”Other works of the genius of Vinci – Seracini said – datingto the first ever goal of the eighties of the fifteenth century, demonstrate the use of a lacquer of the same type as that extractedfrom the east wall of the Salone dei Cinquecento.”
