Snow Tuesday and Friday according to the forecast

FLORENCE, ITALY – There are no snowfall in Florence and surround areas. The temperatures of the night have been below zero throughout all the province. Statues, monuments and some part of the Arno river are frozen. Weather alert for snow and ice until next Monday, February 13.

According to “Protezione civile”, yesterday the minimum temperature was recorded to the Passo del Giogo with -13.0 ° C, while the “highest” temperature was -2.5 ° C to S.Giusto (Scandicci).  A similar temperature was recorded in the center of Florence.

There are, however in the last week, numerous icy roads in all over the province. According to the weather forecasts a weak snowfall is expected for tomorrow in Tuscany and Florence. On Friday weather forecasts indicate a strong enhancement of the snow.

Many broken water pipes because of freezing. Publiacqua have been working for days to ensure the restoration of water throughout the city.
