In the past week by several parties had been raised controversy about the methods of the research, conducted on a wall of the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, behind which might lurk Leonardo’s masterpiece. As part of the research were in fact made some microscopic holes in the painting that occupies the same wall, ‘The Battle of Scannagallo’, by Giorgio Vasari. Against this system of investigation has been presented an appeal signed by dozens of experts and intellectuals, and a complaint to the prosecutor in Florence.
”The research engineer Seracini has concluded the first stage two weeks ago, with an endoscopic investigation with a tiny camera – continues Acidini -. This reasearch has not damaged in any point the Vasari’s painting. “
