A man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon November 11, 2025, after smashing the windows of a motorcycle dealership and threatening pedestrians with a knife in Via Circondaria, a busy street in the northern part of Florence.
According to police reports, the man first struck the shopfront repeatedly with a vacuum cleaner, shattering the glass, before attempting to steal a motorcycle from the showroom. When he realized the opening he had created was too narrow to escape with the vehicle, he tried to break another window. Failing again, he pulled out a knife and began threatening people nearby.
Several passers-by called the emergency number 112, and a Carabinieri patrol arrived quickly, managing to block and arrest the suspect before anyone was injured.
Via Circondaria lies between the districts of Rifredi and Statuto, an area known for its mix of residential buildings, shops, and small workshops. It is one of the main traffic arteries connecting the city center with the northern suburbs and the highway entrance.
