Florence University Opens One-Stop Desk for Non-EU Students

The University of Florence has launched a new one-stop desk dedicated to supporting non-EU students who arrive in the city with a study visa. The service, available from September at the Morgagni campus, brings together in a single location all the procedures and assistance previously spread across different offices.

The International Students Enrolment Desk is designed to simplify the first steps of the academic journey. It provides administrative support for enrolment in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including specializations, master’s programs and advanced training. Alongside university staff, international tutors – themselves students at the University of Florence – offer guidance and practical advice to help newcomers settle into academic life and the city.

In the same offices, students can also access the Residence Permit Desk, which assists in filling out the required forms to apply for a permit of stay. Having both services available in one place is meant to reduce bureaucracy and ensure that international students can focus on their studies rather than paperwork.

The desk operates Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, with additional afternoon hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. The Residence Permit Desk is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Access is by appointment through the UFirst booking system.

With the new service, the University of Florence aims to strengthen its commitment to welcoming and integrating international students, offering them a single point of reference as they begin their academic path in the city.
