Lucca turned into a pop capital on Sunday night as Jennifer Lopez took the stage for the only Italian date of her Up All Night Tour. A sold-out crowd of 16,000 filled the city’s historic center for a concert that blended energy, choreography, fashion, and emotion in true J-Lo style.
The performance was a full-scale production: elaborate stage design, dramatic costume changes, and a troupe of dancers backed the pop icon as she revisited three decades of hits. From On the Floor to Jenny from the Block, from Booty to Ain’t Your Mama, the setlist celebrated her evolution as a performer—and as a global brand.
The show opened with a birthday countdown projected across the stage, marking the approach of Lopez’s 56th birthday on July 24. After a grand entrance in a shimmering silver bodysuit, she led the audience through more than two hours of music, pausing only to reflect on her personal journey and deliver a message of resilience and self-determination.
In one standout moment, Lopez performed the classic Gracias a la vida accompanied by flamenco guitar and percussion, before turning the spotlight on women’s strength and the courage to be oneself. The emotional section was followed by another round of costume changes, crystal-covered outfits, and high-octane dance routines shared with Italian dancer and Amici winner Giuseppe Giofrè.
The evening closed with her latest single Up All Night and a surprise encore of El Anillo, performed in sparkling silver pants and a glittering blue cap. Before leaving the stage, Lopez waved an Italian flag and projected a QR code that led fans to the release of her new track, Birthday.
The Lucca Summer Festival has built a reputation for hosting major international names, and this performance adds to a long list of memorable nights. For J-Lo fans in Italy, it was a rare and spectacular opportunity to see the star up close—some even paying nearly €1,500 for a meet-and-greet photo at the end of the show.
