FLORENCE, ITALY – The world is waking up to the news that at least 84 people were killed last night in an horrific terrorist attack in Nice, France, during the celebration of the Bastille Day on Thursday July 14, 2016.

France’s President Francois Hollande said the incident had a terroristic character. People are paying tribute to the victims of the attack online, using France’s national motto: Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, with the hashtag #LiberteEgaliteFraternite.

«Florence hugs the entire France. Tonight (July 15, 2016, Editor’s note) at 7 pm we will be in Piazza della Signoria, for Nice, for a free world. #PrayforNice,» mayor of Florence, Dario Nardella, wrote on Facebook.
