FLORENCE, ITALY – Hollywood star director Ron Howard, currently filming the latest in a series of blockbuster murder mysteries in Florence, received the symbolic keys of the city during a ceremony at the medieval Palazzo Vecchio Saturday morning.
The Florence mayor said he wanted to acknowledge the “enthusiasm” that Howard is bringing to the filming of the Hollywood blockbuster in the iconic city.
“Obviously, we are very pleased with the (profile) that the film will guarantee to the city, both in terms of image and of prestige,” he added.
Nardella, who has a small part in the film, joked that his scene was shot 12 times thus forging a friendship between himself and the director. And the mayor admitted to being a little star-struck. “I also met Tom Hanks, an extraordinary and kind person who complimented me on our city”.
Inferno Movie is taken from the 2013 mystery thriller novel by American author Dan Brown. It’s the fourth book in his Robert Langdon series, following Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code and The Lost Symbol.
