FLORENCE, ITALY – From the union of the Opera di Firenze, OperaVoice and Twitter, the #neverlandOF project was born, an actual virtual space provided with a wi-fi network and 10 seats reserved for those bloggers who, for every opera or ballet premiere, will compete by twitting thoughts and pictures during the show.

It is the first initiative in Italy where tweet-seats are employed for a project aimed at people who live social medias as an essential part of the world of opera.
The project will start in conjunction with the first performance of Vincenzo Bellini’s I puritani (28th January 2015) and will go on with Dido and Æneas/Le jeune homme et la mort (1st March 2015) and La Traviata (1st April 2015). Tweet-seats will be set in the first box on the right in order to not disturb the audience, since that section is not visibile from the rest of the theater.

According to the official Teatro dell’Opera website, can partecipate who follow the official twitter account of the Opera di Firenze @maggiomusicale; have had an active Twitter account for at least a month; have twitted at least twice in the month of December 2014; have at least 50 tweets in your account.

To partecipate send a tweet to @maggiomusicale writing “#neverlandOF” within the 22nd of January 2015. The following day the list of chosen twitters, decided by the Communication and Marketing office, will be informed via tweet.

In addition, two twitters at a time will receive a special authorization for participating to the dress rehearsals to follow the cast and the preparation of the show up close.

At the end of every show the metrics of the messages will be published online. The one who will have had the most retweets will be awarded by the Opera di Firenze two orchestra level seats for any 2015 show, while the most original tweet will be awarded a ticket for any 2015 concert.
