FLORENCE, ITALY – Each December the graduating class of the Syracuse University Master in Renaissance Art Program presents scholarly papers relating to a common topic chosen by the students themselves.

The topics may relate to a generic theme or focus on a specific monument or place. The oral presentations allow students to develop their skills in public speaking and improve their abilities to organize visual materials.

The symposium Behind the Fig Leaf – Erotic Visual Culture in Renaissance Italy will take place Thursday, December 4, 2014, 4 pm, Room 13, Villa Rossa, at the SUF – Syracuse University in Florence.

Since 1987, the Florence Symposium has attracted international scholars from Florence and beyond. This year Syracuse University celebrates the 50th year of the Ma program in Florence.
