FLORENCE, ITALY – Over-3-metre-long 400 kg rare shark washes up on Giglio Island.
The shark surprised tourists and islanders Thursday June 19, 2014, on Tuscany’s Island.
A team of biologists working on the Costa Concordia wreck was called down to look at the animal.
The Bluntnose Sixgill Shark is wide-ranging, although patchily distributed, in boreal, temperate and tropical seas, according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
