FLORENCE, ITALY – Saturday June, 21, 2014 MTV hosts its popular awards show in the Cascine park in Florence, Italy.
Originally named TRL Awards by MTV Italy to celebrate the most popular artists and music videos in Italy. The show was born as an annual event to celebrate the most request videos and artists on Total Request Live, the TRL Awards is today a celebration of what MTV Italian viewers consider the best in music, cinema and fashion.
The awards were presented annually and broadcast live on MTV Italy, as well as online. In 2013 the show was replaced by the MTV Italian Music Awards.
In 2013, the MTV Music Awards involved approximately 30 000 people under the stage and nearly 3 million viewers on TV and on the internet.
