Defeated by Chievo, Fiorentina goes to hell

FLORENCE, ITAL Y – An initially silent Artemio Franchi stadium grew increasingly loud as Fiorentina was defeated by Chievo at home. The match made for a poor spectacle as the gameplay was tense and the result means trouble for Fiorentina who are now fourth to last with a mere 5 point advantage over Lecce.

Chievo gained the advantage 24 minutes into the first half thanks to blunder by Natali who “passed” the pall to Pellissier with his heel, resulting in a perfect assist which allowed Chievo’s captain to dribble past Boruc and bag the net. In the second half Liajic scored the equalizer from a well executed free kick, but 88 minutes in Rigoni scored the winning goal off an assist by Paloschi.
